August 31, 2022 - Wednesday

Applications for Chinese language courses for the 2022-2023 academic year are now open at the China Cultural Central in Malta.

Learn about Chinese culture, how to say simple phrases such as “How are you?” or “My name is” in Chinese, learn to write the most famous Chinese characters, such as happiness 福 or love 爱 , and impress your friends and family!

Each course consists of thirty 90-minute classes, held at the China Cultural Centre in Valletta from October 11, 2022 to June 22, 2023. Courses range from beginner to advanced.

Children aged from 6 to 11 can attend the Introductory Chinese language courses, and students aged 12 and above can choose between different levels, going from beginner to advanced.

The teachers from the Confucius Institute at the University of Malta look forward to taking students on an inspiring Chinese journey through rich classroom practice and laying a solid foundation for fluency.

Certificates would be awarded to students who have completed the course successfully. Two outstanding students will be recommended for the ‘Experience China – China Cultural Centre Students Award Tour’ organized by the Chinese Ministry for Culture and Tourism, which will be subject to potential travel to China depending on international travel restrictions.

Interested students can take the Chinese Proficiency Test, also known as the HSK (hanyu shuiping kaoshi), at the Confucius Institute at the University of Malta and consult their teachers. HSK is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency assessing non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic, and professional lives. HSK consists of six levels.

At any age, learning Chinese language is an enriching experience, an eye-opening opportunity to discover a new culture and one of the most ancient civilizations.

So why not start now? The China Cultural Centre in Malta is looking forward to your visit!

The Chinese Language Courses fees are €130 for CCC members, and €150 for non-members. The membership fee is €12 for adults, €7 for students/senior citizens, and €14 per family (two parents and two children).
