The Network of International Culturalink Entities (NICE), in collaboration with the cultural and tourism departments (bureaus) of 13 provinces (autonomous regions, and municipalities) including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian, Henan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang, will collaborate with China’s national cultural and tourist offices overseas to jointly organize the “Nihao! China” – 2024 Silk Road Tourism Overseas Promotion Season series activities from June to October 2024. The aim is to promote the Silk Road spirit of “peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, and mutual learning and mutual benefit”, showcase the magnificent natural scenery, diversified ethnic cultures and profound cultural heritage of cities along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and enhance the exchanges, mutual learning and common prosperity among the member cities of the International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities.

Thousands of years ago, humanity did not balk at the vastness of the desert, the steepness of the mountains, the desolation of the wasteland, and the vastness of the oceans. They crossed mountains and rivers and opened up the legendary trade route known as the Silk Road. The Silk Road on land began in the bustling city, passed through colorful Danxia landforms, connected oases and lakes, and wound through deserts and snow-capped mountains. The Silk Road on sea connected pearl-like commercial ports and beautiful islands in the vast ocean.

The Silk Road brought Chinese goods and culture to the world, and took the infinite wonders of the world to China. Along this world-renowned trade route, countless treasures of human civilization shine brightly. Here you can appreciate the colorful architectural remains, feel the exquisite skills of ancient craftsmen, and listen to the stories of prosperity. As a bridge between Eastern and Western civilizations, the Silk Road has witnessed numerous commercial and trade exchanges and connected diverse cultures and diverse ideas.

Today, the Belt and Road Initiative brings the world closer, with more and more Silk Road cities becoming full of vitality and vigor. This splendid modern new Silk Road offers great opportunities for common prosperity.
